The Consumer Electronics Show has been trending toward the car world for a while now, and this year is no exception. With electric vehicles gaining more traction every year, and as automotive features increasingly borrow from consumer tech, it makes sense that cars will continue to figure more widely at CES. With that in mind, we rounded up all of the good (and some of the bad) we saw at this year’s CES.

Chrysler Airflow (Good)

Chrysler

Chrysler is making the leap to electric in 2028 and showed off a striking electric crossover that revived one of its most interesting nameplates. The Chrysler Airflow Concept might not be as exciting as a Hellcat replacement, but it does show that Chrysler is headed in a new direction. The company also noted that it will have a fully electric lineup by 2028. While it’s likely the Airflow will evolve into production vehicle, the company has only confirmed that it will have an EV in its lineup in 2025 but has yet to confirm that it will be the Airflow.

Chevrolet Silverado EV (Great)

GM

Following the Ford F-150 Lightning and the GMC Hummer EV, Chevrolet showed off its upcoming battery-electric Silverado pickup. Advertising 400 miles of range, 664 hp and 10,000 pounds of towing capacity, this Silverado doesn’t seem to lose a lot compared to its internal-combustion counterpart. Of course, it’s likely that the lower-optioned, entry-level trucks won’t have those same specs, but the Silverado’s target starting price is $39,990.

Hyundai Robots (Head-Scratching)

Hyundai/Boston Dynamics

While you’d probably expect Hyundai to show off a new vehicle or an interesting piece of vehicle tech, the company instead decided to highlight its relatively new relationship with Boston Dynamics. That means Hyundai showed off… robots. Robots are cool, but it would have been more interesting to see something automotive.

Sony Vision-S 02 (Interesting)

Sony

Sony further tests the automotive waters with another concept car at this year’s CES. Accurately named the Vision-S 02, this follows the Vision S that debuted at the 2020 CES. This second time around, Sony brought this battery-electric crossover to the show floor. That said, the Vision-S 02 shares a platform with its sedan counterpart. Could this be a sign that Sony is serious about building cars?

BMW

BMW brought its high-performance battery-electric crossover to this year’s CES. This powerful EV advertises 610 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque in sport mode. Added to that, BMW estimates that the iX M60 has a 260-mile range. Unlike the concepts shown at CES, this BMW is scheduled to go on sale later this year and starts at a hefty $106,095.
